May Tax Due Dates in the Philippines

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has released the tax due dates for May 2023. Here is a list of the important tax deadlines for the month:

  • May 15

    • Quarterly Income Tax Return (ITR) for self-employed individuals, professionals, and non-resident aliens (NRA)

    • Quarterly Value Added Tax (VAT) Return

    • Quarterly Percentage Tax Return

    • Quarterly Documentary Stamp Tax Declaration

  • May 29

    • First Quarter Employer's Quarterly Remittance Return of Income Taxes Withheld on Compensation (BIR Form 1601-C)

    • First Quarter Employer's Quarterly Remittance Return of Final Income Taxes Withheld (BIR Form 1601-F)

    • First Quarter Employer's Quarterly Remittance Return of Creditable Income Taxes Withheld (Expanded) (BIR Form 1601-EQ)


It is important to note that these are the regular tax due dates. If the due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday, the deadline is moved to the next working day.


Taxpayers who fail to file their tax returns and pay the corresponding taxes on time may be subject to penalties. The penalties for late filing and payment of taxes vary depending on the type of tax and the amount of tax due.
